Human Connection in Unreal Engine

I set out to create an environment inside of the industry leading Unreal Engine, it’s one of my go-to programs as a professionally trained animator. This environment was different from others I’ve made in the past, but to craft anything compelling you need emotion and reliability. The other piece to this puzzle was finding inspiration, which you cannot find with artificial intelligence. Only human intelligence can allow you to set out to capture the human side of whatever you're doing, so in this case I needed to find photo references from the real world.

My vision for this project was to have a character resting by a tree pondering about their day with a sunset on a warm summer night, we all know that feeling. See, that’s why human connection and emotion is so important. I can’t just have a character by a tree and call it a day, I need to describe the connection through my environment.  With the grass, lighting, character pose, sounds and composition to create cohesiveness. Although I don’t have an official name for this project, I think we could call it Evening Blues.

Let me know what you're creatively working on, I’d love to hear! Cheers!
